Pandemic Gathering Guidelines
First Baptist Church will be reopening for in-person worship on Sunday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m. With that being said, we must be considerate of the current environment and season in which we live.
Romans 12:10 - Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
We understand that not everyone will be comfortable attending in person. In fact, we encourage those who are high risk or feeling ill to stay home and worship with us online.
Below are several guidelines to take into consideration as you prepare for our upcoming reopening:
As you are preparing to come to church, please assess your own level of health and wellness.
While we encourage you to wear a mask, we are not mandating this practice. Masks will be available at the service if you do not have your own.
Since the start of the pandemic, the CDC and medical experts have recommended social distancing of six feet to limit the spread of COVID-19. We will be encouraging the same.
When you arrive and exit, use the building's main doors. These doors will be propped open to better facilitate con-tactless entry and exit. The door by the office will be inaccessible.
In the sanctuary, we will be using every other pew for seating. Blue/Yellow tape will be used to section off pews that are not for use. We are encouraging families to sit together (parents, youth, and children). Furthermore, we recommend leaving six feet between families to honor each other's personal space. There will not be a greeting time during the service.
At the end of the service, we will be dismissing each pew in an orderly fashion, starting with the back pew. You are encouraged to exit the foyer after you are dismissed.
Instead of our usual time of offering, we will have "giving boxes" stationed throughout the building. Greeters will be on hand to point out the location of these boxes. Online giving will still be available on our website.
Restrooms will be available for use. Water fountains will not be available. Please bring your own water if this is something you require.
The nursery will not be available for regular childcare. However, it will be open for nursing mothers and diapering needs. The changing table by the office will also be available. Further information will be posted in the nursery.
Several hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the building. The church will be sanitized before and after each use. CDC guidance has been consulted for our cleaning methods.
We will continue live streaming our time of worship online for those who are unable to attend in person.
We apologize for any confusion caused by previous communications regarding the reopening of FBC's in-person worship. We hope that these guidelines give clarity as we prepare to meet again as Christ's Body.
